Use this when you have a wholesale portal, a price list or any page only some customers should see. We email the person a code or a one-click link and then check it when they use it. You store nothing and you build no login system.

A code is digits the person types in. A link is one button in the email that takes them to a page you choose. Both expire.

On WooCommerce the plugin does it for you with one shortcode on the page where people arrive. Anywhere else, your server asks us to send the code and then asks us to check what the person typed.

The shortcode, the API requests, the expiry rules and every error are in the developer guide: Email somebody a login code in Developers and API.
