Check your store is being tracked
We look at your shop the way a shopper does and show you a checklist of what we can and cannot see.
Where it is in the app
Open Home, choose Settings, then Other › Integrations.

Installing the plugin is not the same as the plugin working. A theme can quietly skip the line WordPress uses to add things to a page. An SEO plugin can stop describing your products. A page cache can hand one shopper's identity to everybody. None of that shows up as an error. It shows up as flows that never fire.
So we look at your shop ourselves. On WordPress or WooCommerce, we load your homepage, your shop page, one product, your basket and your checkout, the way a shopper's browser would, and write down what we found. We only read pages that are already public. Nothing about your shop changes.
#Where to find it
Open Settings and choose Other.
On screenSettings › OtherOpen Integrations.
Find the Store connection card for details about the connection, then What we checked, "the five things that have to be true for your shop to reach us".
Each line is a tick, a warning, a cross, or grey. A cross tells you the fix in one sentence.
The check runs by itself: shortly after the plugin first connects, then once a day. On the same page, What your shop is sending lists every kind of event we have heard, with Last 24h, Last 7 days and Last seen. If your revenue looks wrong, look here for the orders. The Activity tab in Analytics has the same list.
#The five lines on WordPress
| Line | What it asks |
|---|---|
| Homepage tracked | Can we tell somebody visited your shop? |
| Shop and product pages tracked | The same question for the pages people browse. |
| Product details visible to the tracker | When somebody looks at a product, can we tell which one, at what price, in stock or not? |
| Checkout capture | Which checkout you run, so abandoned checkout works. |
| Cache safe | Is a page cache making every visitor look like the same person? |
Product details can be amber rather than red. Green means the plugin prints the product straight from WooCommerce, so price, code and stock are exact. Amber means we read it from your SEO plugin's page data, which works until you change SEO plugins. Updating the plugin to version 1.0.8 makes it green.
Checkout capture looks with an empty basket, and WooCommerce shows no checkout form to an empty basket. So "We could not tell which checkout you run" is grey, never a cross. Usually nothing is wrong.
#The one that is urgent
Cache safe is the only line that can quietly cost you money. If it is red, a page cache is serving one saved copy of your homepage, including the identifier we set on the first visitor, to everybody after. Every shopper looks like one person, and their carts and orders pile onto one contact.
The fix is one setting in your cache plugin. Exclude the cookie named aminoengine_id from caching. Older versions of our plugin named it _ae_id, so exclude that one too. Breeze, WP Rocket, W3 Total Cache, LiteSpeed and Varnish all have a list for this. If you can't find it, turn off page caching for the homepage alone.
#On Shopify
A Shopify shop gets a different list, because we ask Shopify instead of loading pages:
- App installed on your shop. If the app was removed, nothing arrives.
- Shopify is sending us events. Shopify drops a subscription after repeated failures, so we re-check and repair it each time you open the page.
- Browsing and checkout tracked. Shopify runs our tracking for you. There is nothing to add to your theme.
- Opt-ins recorded. If this reads Opt-ins NOT being recorded, type your checkout's opt-in sentence under Settings → Email → Sender preferences. Without it, subscribers from Shopify leave no consent record.
- Orders arriving. A brand-new connection or a quiet week can look the same as a break.
#If it didn't work
- "Your homepage has no tracking tag on it." Your theme's homepage never runs
wp_head(), the line plugins use to add things to a page. Update the plugin to 1.0.8. It adds the tag anyway. - "The tag on your homepage carries an old key." The key in the plugin is one we no longer recognise. Paste a live key into the plugin, using the Connection tab.
- Every line says "we could not load…". Your shop is refusing us. A security plugin or firewall that blocks unfamiliar visitors will do this. So will a site that is password-protected or not published.
- The status reads Key rotated, Silent or Disconnected. The card names the fix. A rotated key means the shop still holds the old one.
- The checklist hasn't appeared. It appears after the plugin has connected once. If the plugin is not installed, fix that first. See "Connect your store".
- It is out of date. It runs daily. Email support@aminoengine.com with your shop address if you need it sooner.
