What Mailchimp's policy says
Mailchimp's Acceptable Use Policy has a list of industries it may turn away because they draw more complaints than average. As of 23 September 2026, it reads:
“Some industries have higher-than-average abuse complaints, which can jeopardize deliverability. In order to maintain the reliability of our platform, we may not allow businesses that offer these types of services, products, or content: ... Pharmaceutical products”
A second list, under the heading “Content Subject to Additional Scrutiny”, covers accounts Mailchimp may review more closely. It includes:
“Nutritional, herbal, and vitamin supplements”
Be precise about what this means. The word peptide does not appear in the policy. The first list is about industries with high complaint rates, and the wording is “may not allow”, not “will close”. Whether a peptide brand falls under “Pharmaceutical products” is Mailchimp's call, made at review time. Read the full policy and judge for yourself.
How Mailchimp reviews accounts
The same policy says Mailchimp uses a mix of automated and human review to check that members follow it. Its help page about account suspension explains that an automated abuse-prevention system and a Compliance team look at negative sending and list import results. While an account is under review, Mailchimp can switch off features such as sending and importing.
For a brand, that means a review can start from your numbers, not only from what you sell. A send with a high bounce or complaint rate is the kind of thing that puts an account in front of a reviewer, and then the category question gets asked too.
Why category risk matters on shared sending
Large email platforms send mail for many brands from shared servers and addresses. Inbox providers judge those addresses by how recipients react. If one industry draws more complaints, it can hurt delivery for every other customer on the same infrastructure. That is the reason Mailchimp gives in its own policy: to protect deliverability and the reliability of the platform.
Seen from the platform's side, removing a whole category is simpler than managing it. Seen from yours, it means your list lives on a service whose written rules may not cover what you sell. You cannot argue your way out of a category rule.
Amino Engine for Mailchimp users
Amino Engine is an email platform built for peptide brands on purpose. Mail leaves from your own domain, on servers and IP addresses we run. No outside email provider sits above your account.
- Store-first flows. The WooCommerce plugin sends us carts, orders, product views and checkout consent, so abandoned cart, browse abandonment, post-purchase and win-back flows run on real store data. See WooCommerce email marketing for peptide brands.
- Campaigns on one page. Pick who it goes to, write it, design it in the drag-and-drop builder, and the send button shows the recipient count.
- Forms. Popup, flyout, embedded and hosted page, with double opt-in built in.
- Revenue reporting. Revenue is credited to the last email click within five days. Opens never count.
- An API and MCP server. An AI agent can build flows and emails as drafts. A person switches them live.
What changes when you move
Your list. Mailchimp's help page on viewing and exporting contacts says an export can include subscribed, non-subscribed, unsubscribed and cleaned contacts, often as separate files. Bring all of them. Unsubscribes and bounces arrive as unsubscribes and bounces, so nobody who opted out is mailed again. We refuse files with no consent history behind them, because that protects your sending.
Your domain. You prove your sending domain with one DNS record, checked live. Nothing sends until it is verified. New senders then warm up over 42 days, so send to your most engaged people first.
Your forms.Replace Mailchimp's signup forms with ours, so new subscribers land in one place.
Your automations. Rebuild them from the 82 ready-made flows, or have our team do it with Done for you, $899 a month on top of a plan. The step by step moving guide covers the order to do it in.
