Connect your store
Link a WooCommerce or Shopify shop so orders, carts and customers reach Amino Engine, and see what the connection screen tells you.
Where it is in the app
Open Home, choose Settings, then Other › Integrations.
- Home
- Settings
- Other
- Integrations
Connecting your shop is what turns Amino Engine from a mailing tool into something that knows who bought what and who left a basket behind. We read your shop. We do not change it.
You can do this on screen 2 of the setup wizard, from the Get set up checklist on Home, or at any time under Settings → Other → Integrations.
#WooCommerce
WooCommerce connects through our plugin, Amino Engine for WooCommerce. It needs WordPress 6.0 or newer and PHP 8.1 or newer.
Open Settings → Other → Integrations, or screen 2 of the wizard.
On screenSettings › Other › IntegrationsIn the box Your shop's web address, type your shop address.
yourstore.comis fine.Press Add it to my WordPress ↗. We save the plugin file to your computer and open your WordPress upload page in a new tab.
In WordPress, choose the file you just saved, press Install Now, then Activate.
That is all. The file you download from your own account already carries a one-time code for your account, so it connects itself when you activate it. There is no key to copy and nothing to paste.
When it works, the card headed WooCommerce shows a green chip such as Connected · last heard from it 2 minutes ago.
If your browser blocks the new tab, the file still saves, and the screen offers open your WordPress upload page ↗ so you can choose it by hand.
#If you copied a plugin from somewhere else
A copy that did not come from your account has no code in it. After you activate it, a notice at the top of your WordPress dashboard offers a Connect to Amino Engine button. Press it. You can also paste a key by hand: in WordPress, go to WooCommerce → Amino Engine, paste the key and press Validate and save.
#Can't upload plugins on your host
On screen 2 there is a quieter link, Can't upload plugins on your host? Connect orders only. It lets WordPress hand us a limited key so your orders come in. Carts, browsing and abandoned checkouts still need the plugin.
#Shopify
Shopify needs nothing installed and no key.
Open Settings → Other → Integrations.
On screenSettings › Other › IntegrationsType your shop address, the one ending in
.myshopify.com. Your own domain will not work, even though it is the same shop.Press Connect Shopify.
Shopify asks you to approve Amino Engine once, then sends you back.
Orders, checkouts, customers and products start arriving. Shopify only releases the last 60 days of order history until it approves us for more. Everything from now on arrives in full.
If the app is ever removed from your shop, the card says The app was removed from your shop. Press the connect button and approve again. Your contacts, lists and flows are untouched.
#What the screen shows once you are connected
- Store connection with a chip: Connected, Waiting for the plugin, Silent, Key rotated, Disconnected or Not connected.
- For WooCommerce: Key in use (the first characters only), Bound to (the address of your shop), and the plugin version.
- What we checked, five checks that have to be true for your shop to reach us. See "Check your store is being tracked".
- What your shop is sending, a table of What happened and Last seen, with plain lines such as An order was placed and Someone changed their cart.
#What the plugin sends
Orders (created, paid, shipped, cancelled, refunded), customers, carts, checkouts started, products viewed and consent. Events are queued in your own database and retried if delivery fails, so nothing is dropped quietly.
In WordPress, WooCommerce → Amino Engine has the settings, including the checkout opt-in box. The box is never pre-ticked.
#Who may be emailed
Connecting does not decide who you can email. That is set under Settings → Email → Sender preferences, in three cards: Who may get an offer, Cart recovery and New contacts from your shop or another tool. A blank marketing field in your old tool is read as "we do not know", never as "they said no". See "Consent, unsubscribes and held-back contacts".
#Rotate or repair the key
On the WooCommerce card:
- Repair connection puts a fresh key into your shop for you when we can reach it.
- Issue a new key is shown when we cannot. The old key stops working at once. The new one is shown once under Copy this now. Paste it into WooCommerce → Amino Engine and press Validate and save.
- Rotate secret swaps the key, after a confirm button.
#If it didn't work
- The chip says Waiting for the plugin. The key exists and nothing has used it. Install and activate the plugin.
- The chip says Silent. Your shop is connected but has sent nothing for over a day. The plugin may be switched off or removed. Press Repair connection.
- Shopify says that is not a Shopify shop address. Use the
.myshopify.comaddress. - You said no on WordPress. Nothing was changed. Add the plugin and your shop connects itself.
