Your free trial
What the seven days include, the 500-email cap on real sends, what counts against it, and what happens when it ends.
Where it is in the app
Everything starts on the Home screen, the first thing you see after you sign in.
- Home
Every new brand gets a free trial with everything switched on, email and Advertising both, and you can drop either one from Settings → Billing. This article says exactly what the trial does and does not limit.
#How long it lasts
The trial is seven days from signup. It ends at midnight Eastern time, so you always get the full seven days and up to a day more. The sidebar shows the time left, for example Trial · 5 days left, and on the last day Trial · last day.
#What the trial limits
One thing: real marketing emails to your list.
- Real emails to your list are capped at 500 during the trial. The Overview page under Settings → Billing shows the count as Real emails to your list, for example 12 / 500.
- Building is unlimited. Campaigns, flows, designs, segments and imports are never counted.
- Tests to yourself are unlimited and are never counted.
The cap exists so a first campaign cannot go out to a list nobody has heard from in a year. That is the quickest way to wreck a sending reputation.
If you try to send past the cap, the screen says Your trial includes 500 real sends. Pick a plan to send to everyone.
#The card on file
The last screen of the setup wizard, Put a card on file, asks for a card. It puts you on our smallest plan, Starter, and says the date of the first charge: Free until September 14, then $79 every month. Cancel any time. You type the card on Stripe's own page, never in our screens. Nothing is charged until the trial ends.
If you skipped it or we could not take payments that day, you can add a card later under Settings → Billing → Payments & invoices, with the Add a card button. The wizard's last screen tells you the same: we will ask for a card before your free days run out, from Settings → Billing.
#When the trial ends
If you have a card on file and a plan, the plan starts and you keep sending.
If you have no plan, sending stops and the screen says Your trial ended. Pick a plan to keep sending. The Overview card is headed Your trial has ended with an Ended chip. Everything you built stays exactly where it is. Building is still free.
To keep going, open the plans page at app.aminoengine.com/plans, which every refusal message points to, and press Choose Starter, Choose Growth or Choose Pro. The page marks one plan Picked for you, based on how many people you can email. See "Plans and what they cost".
#Cancel during the trial
If you have no plan on file, there is nothing to cancel and nothing is charged. If you put a card on file during the trial and then cancel, you are not charged: the plan stops where the trial ends. If a plan shows on Settings → Billing → Overview:
Go to Settings → Billing → Payments & invoices.
On screenSettings › Billing › Payments & invoicesPress Cancel plan in the card headed Cancel your plan.
Follow the steps on the Stripe page that opens.
See "Cancel your plan or close your brand".
#If it didn't work
- You cannot send and the trial is still on. You may have used all 500 real emails. The Overview shows the count.
- The trial line has gone from the sidebar. You have a paid plan, or the trial ended and the line now reads Trial ended.
- You want more time. Email support@aminoengine.com.
