Rejected ads and alerts
Where to see why Meta turned an ad down, and how to choose which problems Amino Engine tells you about.
Where it is in the app
Open Home, choose Advertising, then Dashboard.
- Home
- Advertising
- Dashboard
When Meta turns an ad down, you can see Meta's own reason. When something else goes wrong, such as a lost ad account or a page going down, you get an alert.
#See why an ad was turned down
Three places show it:
The dashboard strip. The Ads disapproved figure counts ads Meta refused in the window you picked.
The ad account's page. Open the account (see "Read your ad account's status"). Turned down shows the count. If there are any, a card called Ads Meta turned down lists each one with a short label for the kind of problem and Meta's reason, word for word. If Meta gave none, it says "Meta gave no reason."
Your AI. Ask "Which ads were turned down, and why?" It reads the same review feedback from Meta.
We show Meta's words as Meta wrote them. We do not reword them.
In Bulk upload, a file Meta refused shows "Meta turned this down".
#Common reasons and what to change
Meta gives the reason. These are the usual fixes:
- The words. Change the headline or primary text, then create the ad again.
- The picture or video. Replace it.
- The page. Meta also reviews the page the ad links to. Fix the page, or point the ad at a different one.
- The same refusal twice. Two ads refused for the same reason usually means the words or the page, not the individual ads. We raise an alert for this too.
Rejected ads are not deleted for you. Edit or replace them yourself, or ask your AI to.
#Alerts
Open Alerts from See details on the dashboard's Needs attention line. The page is for the few things that need you.
- Needs you. Open alerts, newest first. Press Seen it on one, or Mark all as seen at the top. A disabled account's alert has a Review button.
- Silenced. Things that happened while their kind was silenced. They are still written down.
- What we tell you about. The kinds of alert, each with a short explanation and a switch.
The kinds are:
| Alert | Can you silence it? |
|---|---|
| Facebook login stopped working | No. Always on. |
| An ad account was disabled | No. Always on. |
| A Facebook page went down | Yes |
| An ad was turned down | Yes |
| A Facebook security check | Yes |
| The numbers stopped agreeing | Yes |
| The same refusal, twice | Yes |
| A change was made | Yes |
Press Silence on a kind to stop being told about it, and Turn back on to start again. A silenced alert is still recorded, so a ban that happened while you had silenced that kind is still on the page when you look.
Only owners and admins can change these switches.
#Where the daily summary goes
Under Where the daily summary goes:
Send it. Choose Here only (shown on this screen, nothing is sent), Email (to everyone on the account who can see Advertising), or Slack.
At. The hour of the day, in your own time.
Press Save.
#If it didn't work
- You see no alerts at all. The page says "Nothing needs you." That is good news.
- An alert you expected is missing. Check Silenced. If its kind is silenced, it is there.
- You cannot press Silence. Only owners and admins can.
- An ad is Rejected but no reason shows. Meta gave none. Open the ad in Ads Manager to see Meta's own notice.
